Data destruction with business equipment pickup

Data security is the core of the business pickup. Here is what happens to the drives in your equipment and what you can document.

What happens to your data

Electronics containing storage media, including laptops, desktops and mobile devices, are secured on collection and handled through controlled processing channels.

Storage media is wiped or physically destroyed using industry-standard methods through certified R2 downstream partners. Request a Certificate of Destruction when requesting pickup for your compliance and audit records, including documentation related to HIPAA or SOC 2 requirements.

Chain of custody

Devices are tracked from collection through processing.

  1. Schedule a pickup

Tell us what you have, where it is and your preferred pickup window. We confirm coverage, logistics and any fees before scheduling.

  2. Secure collection and tracking

Devices are inventoried, securely transported and tracked through our system.

  3. Data destruction and certified recycling

Data is wiped or destroyed and all electronics are processed through compliant recycling streams. Certificates of Destruction are available on request.

Serial tracking, asset reporting and compliance support are part of the business pickup.

Certificate of Destruction

Before pickup

  • Back up anything you need to keep.
  • Remove device locks and factory reset devices where you can.
  • Include nonworking devices in your request. Storage media is still wiped or destroyed during processing.
  • Hard drive removal is available for a small fee.

After collection

Electronics are processed and recycled through certified R2 downstream partners in compliance with state and federal regulations. Reusable materials and critical metals are recovered, under a near-zero landfill policy.
